Having a guy best friend isn’t like the movies,

They don’t fall in love with you at the drop of a hat,
They don’t buy you food and walk through a snowstorm to bring it to you.
They aren’t perfect.
Sometimes they get mad.
Sometimes they don’t say the perfect thing to make you feel better.
They do, however, try.
They’ll tell you when you’re being melodramatic, when you’re being a jerk, when you’re wrong.
They’ll make fun of you, but in a way you know they’re joking.
They’ll be an idiot with you in public.
They’ll be inappropriate because they’ll forget you’re not “one of the guys.”
They’ll tell you stupid jokes and laugh at yours.
They’re there for you when you need it most,
and they don’t get freaked out by your family no matter how weird they are.
Most of all, they know you better than anyone else, and they understand when no one else does.
Guy best friends aren’t like in the movies: they’re better.
